Remastered, retracked upgrade of shnid 7048.
Patches not possible...no available source.
Oversaturated vocals on Disc 2, tracks 5, 6. Slightly better.
Shnid 7048 sounded muddy with exagerated bass. Now fixed.
This is a big improvement with better presence and clarity.

Buddy, Chuck and Bo Meet The Who
Not being one who likes Not Fade Away anymore, y'know, you just get tired of that rhythm ... sort of like Aiko and Woman Smarter. Sorry, after about the

first one thousand listens boredom sets in. Not so with this fine remastering. Not Fade Away is killer. Even U.S. Blues, a set-ending yawner, is spectacular. Why? Because of Jerry's magnificent guitar. He just lambastes the entire countryside with this heartstopping expose' of lathered-up guitar. It really is Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley done Who style with space jumps and arm windmills, grand chords and dazzling overtones the likes of which were never imagined. Yes, Garcia is having technical issues and he sounds a little out of sorts. He's just all over the joint sometimes. Yes, he's sloppy and I LOVE it. Frankly, these two years, 1977 & 1978 are often that way. It's my favorite Grateful Dead era. There shall never be anything to compare in scope. I attended 10 shows in '77 and about 20 in '78 and a number of them had the same TNT dynamic blasting, which attracted me. It upset my music snob friends who were fanatics about staying in tune and delivering letter perfect renderings of "how it's supposed to be," but I like to rock and roll and I like it loud and this show fits the bill adroitly. Thank you to whomever worked on and uploaded this gem and thank you Archives for accommodating.
